Invitec Misoprostol Drug

Composition: Each tablet contains 200 mcg Misoprostol.

Pharmacology: Misoprostol is a prostaglandin E1 analogue (PGE1) which has the effect antisekresi and protects the gastric mucosa. In addition to effects on gastric antisekresi and mukoproteksi, misoprostol has the effect of which may cause smooth muscle contraction (uterotonic effect).

Indication: Prevention of gastric ulcer induced by NSAIDs (including aspirin) in patients with gastric ulcer complication risk is high, such as the elderly and patients with severe diseases simultaneously, and patients with a history of gastric ulcer.

Contra Indication:
Misoprostol should not be used in patients who are allergic to prostaglandins and in pregnant women with the aim of reducing the risk of stomach ulcers are triggered by NSAIDs.

Dosage:
Adults: prevention of gastric ulcer induced by NSAID: recommended oral dose is 200 mcg 4 times daily with meals. Misoprostrol must be taken during NSAID therapy. Must be drunk while eating and the last dose for the day should be before bed.
Renal impairment: dose adjustment in patients with impaired renal function is not required on a regular basis, but the dose can be lowered if the dose of 200 mcg can not be tolerated.
